Chicken and Sheep Challenge: 2011-2012

We were set a Maths Challenge.  We worked in groups and could choose whatever equipment we felt we needed.  Take a look at the different ways we tried to solve the problem. 

Challenge:

A farmyard contains both chicken and sheet.  The farmer knows there are 26 heads and 74 legs.  How many chickens and how many sheep are in the yard?
