Welcome to the Reception Class page

We are a busy, happy class and there are lots of pictures here of us hard at work! We hope you enjoy looking at our Class page!

Class Teacher: Mrs J. Fernandes
Teaching Assistants: Mrs C. Spensley and Miss F.Hodgson

Here is some information that you might find useful:

Our  P.E. lessons ( taught by Mrs Meroniuk)  are on Thursday mornings, but as this can be subject to change, please ask your child to bring P.E. kit on Monday to leave on his or her peg until Friday.

'Tuck' is available for the children in addition to fruit and milk. If you would like your child to receive this, please send 50p ( 10p a day) on Mondays.

In the Autumn Term, your child will bring home  a 'Sound Book' and some green flash cards to read. As the year progresses they will bring home a simple reading book. Please help your child by encouraging him or her to practise everyday and let us know how he or she is doing at home by commenting in the reading record book. It is also really important that your child brings the books back to school each day so that we can keep track of any changes that are needed.

From the beginning of the Spring Term we will be sending home a half-termly 'Homework Grid' with suggestions for fun activities that you can carry out at home with your child  that will help support their Early Literacy and Mathematics skills.

Please ensure that all clothes have your child's name on them. Shoes can be named inside the sole. It is so much easier to find the owner of lost property when it is labelled clearly.

If there are any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to catch me at the gate at the start or end of the day. If you feel that you need a longer chat then the office will be able to arrange an appointment at a more convenient time.
