The World of Roald Dahl
Welcome to Class 1S's Autumn page!
This term we are excited to be finding out about all things Roald Dahl. We will read a range of Roald Dahl stories including The BFG, The Enormous Crocodile, Fantastic Mr Fox and George's Marvellous Medicine. We are going to cook some recipes following the instructions of Roald Dahl's Revolting Recipes and we will be making our own Roly-Poly Birds and Enormous Crocodiles!
The children will be writing their own stories about a naughty character based on ideas from Horrid Henry as we compare Roald Dahl's characters to Francesca Simon's stories. They will be writing instructions for making things and will be practising using instruction vocabulary.
This term we will also be learning about The Great Fire of London. Come along to our Class Assembly on October 13th to find out everything we have learnt.
Of course we will find out about Christmas and how Christians celebrate this festival. We will also find out about the Harvest festival.
